NIKKI SIXX, NICKELBACK To Appear In New JVC Ads

September 8, 2003

The husband/wife team of MÖTLEY CRÜE founding member Nikki Sixx and actress Donna D'Errico and the multi-platinum rock band NICKELBACK are among the movie, music and extreme sports celebrities that have been tapped by JVC, one of the world's leading consumer electronics brands, to participate in their multi-million dollar national branding campaign this fall.

The new JVC campaign, comprised of print, outdoor, broadcast and internet elements, will feature separate print and outdoor ads starring award-winning filmmaker Jerry Bruckheimer, singer/songwriter Lisa Loeb, world champion snowboarder and mountain biker Shaun Palmer and NICKELBACK, while Sixx and D'Errico will appear together with their two-year-old daughter, Frankie-Jean.

The campaign targets 25-34-year-olds based on their enthusiasm for leading edge technology products. The creative takes its key from JVC's new worldwide tagline, "The Perfect Experience" with copy that has each celebrity commenting on significant experiences in their own lives and their experiences with JVC products.

"The campaign's objective is to differentiate JVC from other consumer electronics brands and build an emotional relationship with the consumer," said Craig Geiger, Executive Vice President/Chief Operating Officer. "We think we've accomplished that by targeting a key demographic with themes and celebrities that connect solidly with our target market."

Media will include publications in the men's, women's, music fan, musician, and entertainment categories, including Blender, Cosmopolitan, Entertainment Weekly, FHM, Guitar Player, Playboy, Premier, Spin, and others. The broadcast component will include closed captioning sponsorship spots on major market television news programs. A series of full-motion video spots featuring interviews and other video footage with each celebrity will run on a variety of web sites.
